OUR JOURNEY
Teamstock was founded by Bob Heere, a Professor in Management and the Director of Sport Entertainment Management at the University of North Texas. He is a leading scholar on fan engagement, and as program director, has been responsible for the fast growing BBA and MBA programs in Sport Entertainment Management at UNT, for which he built strong partnerships with the Dallas Cowboys, the PGA of America, and many of the other sport entities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Born in the Netherlands, he moved to the United States in 2002 to pursue an academic career in sport management. Unfamiliar with American sports, he began to make small bets on sport games, to have a rooting interest in games and sports he had no affinity with, and learned about basketball, baseball, and of course, the other ‘football’. Now, twenty years later, he is an avid fan of the Dallas professional sport teams and his alma mater, Florida State University, and is glad he does not have to bet on games anymore to root for someone, as betting never worked for him and in recent years, he had been looking for a better way to engage financially with games. During the first few months of CoVid, when no sport events were taking place, he came up with the idea and developed the algorithm for TeamStock. Inspired by the prediction market site predictit.org, he developed a unique patented algorithm that provides sport fans a whole new way to experience their favorite sports.
